My fascination with these techniques began during massage school. Later I pursued my interest in Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) with the internationally recognized Dr. Vodder School, becoming certified in Dr. Vodder’s Manual Lymph Drainage Level 3 - Lymphedema Management & Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) after completing 136 hours of intensive training in April 2025. The program included lymphology and pathology theory as well hands-on training and examination.
MLD increases lymph flow, has a pain relieving effect, is very relaxing, and can be used on recent trauma. It is a gentle and rhythmic massage-like movement applied with a great deal of precision.
Conditions that can be treated with MLD include lymphedema (primary and secondary), venous disorders, orthopaedic injuries, to prepare for or recover from surgery, and for general swelling.
Please feel welcome to get in touch with me to discuss any questions you may have.
Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) is a combination of MLD, compression bandaging, skin care, and exercise therapy. CDT is used during the reduction phase of lymphedema. Following decongestion maintenance continues with a custom measured compression garment and regular follow-up appointments.
I am a certified medical compression garment fitter (socks, sleeve etc) with Medi Canada, a German based company.
